Hello, my name is Nic Donahue and Big West is my story. 

It is a story that involves great people, wonderful places and some amazing wines. Over the last twenty years in the wine and beverage industry I have made some amazing friends and experienced wine in the most beautiful regions. Each vineyard having a unique expression of place made in partnership with friends that have grown with me through years of love, adventure and of course, many bottles of wine. It has taken twenty years to write this story and will take a lifetime to finish it.

Between Santa Barbara, Sonoma and the majestic Pacific Northwest, I’ve deliberately selected vineyards to source from and winemaker friends to work with. It’s a passion project to share the flavor of these areas and the culture that surrounds them. I think it’s possible to bottle emotion. I want these wines to encapsulate nostalgia of the old friend you dearly miss, and happiness for the one you’ll be sharing a glass with over dinner. Can you bottle an amazing landscape, a season, close your eyes, does it take you there?... I hope so.

The wines taste different to everyone, for me they taste like home.
